Volunteers are the essence of WrapAround Hamilton. WrapAround volunteers act as resource and support people for the participants of the process. Throughout the process, they assist the participant with making helpful, caring connections to the community.
Regular acts include being able to communicate with others on the team, take on and follow through with tasks, access community resources, listen without judgment & help family bring people together, make sure everyone is working toward the same goals, and make sure a plan is written and that the family follows through with that plan.
“ There is great satisfaction in knowing that you are participating in a positive change for a family. The (WrapAround) process so often brings hope and that hope motivates the family to keep on going to meet their goals. Seeing a team of people working on the goals is great as well. The sense of accomplishment and celebrating achievements, however small, is actually fun.” – Volunteer Member (Anonymous)

“Change is occurring within the Hamilton Community. There is growing awareness of the (WrapAround) process and how it can assist families.”
“ The advocacy (of the WrapAround Facilitators and Volunteers) to illicit resources for families gives them a voice and greater awareness of what resources are available in the community.”
“The basis of our work is to make a positive influence in the families that we serve and this is observable in our work. This fulfills our mandate- ‘Changing community, one family at a time.’”
